Summer Olympic Games 2012 History : The Olympics Games is the World’s foremost sports competition where almost athletes from around the globe from various nation compete. The first modern games was hosted at the Panathenaic stadium in Athens in 1896, where 43 events were held in which 241 athletes from 14 nations were participates. London Summer Olympics Games 2012 History

London has hosted the Summer Olympics Games twice before the 2012 london Olympics in 1908 and 1948. With Summer Olympics Games 2012 London become first city two host the modern games thrice. 1908 Olympics previously scheduled in Rome but the eruption of the Mouth Vesuvius on 7 April 1906 prompted the shifting of the games to London. 1948 Olympics was the first to be held after World War II , after  the 1944 Games was cancelled due to war.

The 2012 Summer Olympics formally known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, was a major international multi-sport event celebrated in the traditional of the Olympic Games. The first event, the group stage in women’s football began on 25 July at Milennium Stadium in Cardiff, followed by the opening ceremony on 27th July 2012.

London Hosted Modern Olympics Third Time

 London was selected as the host city on 6 July 2005 during the 117th IOC session in Singapore after bid headed by former Olympic champion Sebastian Coe and then Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, defeating the bid from Moscow, New York City and Paris. London is the first and last city thus for to host Olympic Games three times.
